Denver is a 2006 golden palomino stallion with world champion bloodlines. He is triple registered in AQHA, APHA, and PHBA. He is out of a cremello stallion Skeeter Chex and a chesnut mare Tivitos Fancy. His bloodlines trace back to such greats as Doc O'Lena, Doc Bar, Poco Tivio, Poco Bueno, Chexy Lady, King Fritz, Docs Prescription, Cutter Bill, Mr San Peppy, Sonny Dee Bar, and Easter King just to name a few. All of these lines are up close on his pedigree too! He was really bred to cut a cow! He is currently in training with Don Buttrey Performance Horses and is learning to do what his bloodlines were made for. He is a quick learner and is very willing to please. He show career should start up in 2009.
Denver currently stands about 15.1 hh and weighs about 900 lbs but he is still growing. He is very conformationally correct and is one handsome boy! His coat constantly shines even when he is filthy! He has been to a couple of halter shows and has done really well. We have taken him to the Livermore Spring Stampede and he came home with Reserve Grand Champion Halter. I plan on showing him in working cow horse, reined cow horse, and cutting.
His personality is very laid back and easy going. You can hardly even tell he is a stud. I have ridden him by mares in heat and he looks at them and then goes back to work. Not a word out of him. He is constantly ridden around other horses and does perfectly fine. I could not ask for a better stallion! He is not currently up for stud right now as he is in training and I want to get some shows in under his belt. But soon I will be looking for a couple of mares to breed him to for his introductory year. If you are interested, feel free to give me a call 408-921-2361 or e-mail me at dbehning@nestcape.net. Look forward to hearing from you!
UPDATE: Denver was taken to the 2009 Snaffle Bit Futurity in Paso Robles and placed 5th in the first timers class. Not bad for his first show!
